Earlier on Dec. 10, GZU warmly welcomed Missouri guests: vice president Jim Baker, honorary professor Li Jian, program director Liu Dandan, and professor Chang Cheng.
A meeting was held by Vice president Zhang Qin, attended by representatives from the Office of Graduate Affairs, Office of Teaching Affairs, Institute of Scientific Technology, Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Office of International Relations, College of Public Administration, College of Life Sciences, College of Agriculture, College of Foreign Languages, etc.
Zhang Qin briefed the delegation the landscape, featured resources, and culture of Guizou Province, before going to the disciplinary advantages of GZU, like the international exchanges that GZU has conducted in recent years and the achievements that have been achieved on scientific studies.
Jim Baker in return talked about the cooperation between his university and Chinese universities. Founded in 1905, Missouri State University is also a time-honored comprehensive university that has 24,000 students for now, including 1,500 international students from 85 countries and regions. In particular, Chinese students take up half of them. He hoped that his visit this time would boost the bilateral friendship, explore more cooperative opportunities, and enhance educational and academic exchanges, adding that GZU teachers would be warmly welcomed to Missouri State University.
More details had been discussed on credits, curriculum, teacher training, study costs, and language proficiency for students in Missouri State University. Missouri guests also went to visit the institute of Chinese Culture.
An interscholastic agreement was signed by Missouri State University and Guizhou University.
