On 9 Jan. 2018, academician Song Baoan, vice president of Guizhou University, held talks with the Cardiff University Delegation led by its vice chancellor Nora De Leeuw at Meeting Room No.2 of the Administration Building on the North Campus, accompanied by representatives from Teacher’s Office, Office of International Relations, Medical College, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Center for Research and Development of Fine Chemicals, etc.
Song briefed the delegation on achievements of GZU constructing first-level subjects, international exchanges and Confucius Institute. He also added that further two-way cooperation is needed to boost practical development on mutual exchanges, joint postgraduates training and faculty training, thus to achieve win-win results.
Nora De Leeuw hailed the fruitful cooperation of both sides, hoping to further the joint culture program on that basis.
Representatives from Teacher’s Office had warm discussions with the delegation, planning to assign faculty to get trained at Cardiff University at the second half of 2018. Other representatives also introduced their advanced programs, hoping to conduct practical cooperation with Cardiff University. In the end, both sides further talked about details on joint culture program.
The delegation visited the New Campus as well as labs of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, having nice talks with students there.
