Earlier on Dec. 16, Gong Ning, associate counsel from Education Department of Guizhou Province, and Wang Honglei, executive vice-president of Guizhou University, attended the opening ceremony of the Baltic Sea Region Research Center of Guizhou University and Belt and Road Cross-Border Talented Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Summit Forum on the North Campus of GZU.
Gong addressed the ceremony, hoping that GZU could seize its opportunity to strengthen innovation and cooperation, lead major scientific programs and build a new international platform for the industry-university-research fusion in an open way, thus to support the internationalized education of Guizhou Province.
Gong and Wang jointly inaugurated the Baltic Sea Region Research Center.
Approved by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of Ministry of Education, this center is the second national and regional research center of GZU, following the ASEAN Research Institute. It covers 8 Baltic countries like Sweden, Denmark, German, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
Wang said that based on the strategy of globalization and opening up, GZU would take advantage of cutting-edge technology to build a high-level research team, making the center an important academic platform for the development of Belt and Road initiative.
After the inauguration, the Belt and Road Cross-Border Talented Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Summit Forum was held, during which scholars and professionals from home and abroad addressed topics like building a new international platform for China’s innovation and entrepreneurship, telling stories about the in-depth fusion of Chinese capital and scientific platform and international industry-university-research cooperation, and China’s innovation and entrepreneurship under global context and the need of Belt and Road countries.
