Guizhou University organized a training program for 76 newly appointed officials at the National Academy of Education Administration in Beijing from August 10 to 16. The training aimed to deepen the understanding of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement the principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and strengthen party discipline education.
The opening ceremony was held on August 11. The ceremony, hosted by Wang Xu, Vice President of Guizhou University, was attended by Ran Maohua, Vice President of the National Academy of Education Administration, and Wang Jinrong, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Guizhou University. Ran Maohua emphasized that the training reflects the university’s commitment to developing its official team and fostering the growth of newly appointed officials. He encouraged participants to seize the opportunity to learn about Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, improve their political awareness, job performance, and sense of responsibility, and contribute significantly to the development of a robust education system.Wang Jinrong outlined the training’s objectives and arrangement, urging participants to enhance their political awareness and professional skills, and translate their learning into practical actions.
The training program featured thematic lectures, discussion seminars, group exercises. Over the course of the program, participants attended 10 thematic lectures, 3 discussion seminars and 1group exercises. Topics of the thematic lectures covered Xi Jinping’s important discourses on education, the essence of the 20th Central Committee’s Third Plenary Session, party history, national unity, ideological education, campus safety, discipline construction, internationalization of education, and emergency management. The thematic lectures are given by experts from institutions such as the Central Party School (National Academy of Administration), the Central Socialist Academy, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Peking University. In addition to lectures, participants engaged in thematic discussions on topics like “Implementing the Principles of the 20th Central Committee’s Third Plenary Session”, “Contributing to national strength and revival”, and “Addressing Challenges in Job Performance”. They also took part in group exercises simulating emergency responses to real-life scenarios in higher education and viewed an education film.
The training, as part of the university’s “Strengthening Guizhou University” initiative, was well-received by participants. It provided theoretical learning, political training as well as practical guidance. Participants reported that the program has significantly enhanced their theoretical understanding and professional skills. They demonstrated their commitment to applying their new knowledge and insights to support the university’s high-quality development and contribute to its “Double First-Class” construction with vigor and dedication.
