On July 23, Guizhou University (GZU) convened a meeting to discuss employment coordination and promote students’ overseas study opportunities. The university’s leaders, including Yang Wei, Song Bao’an, Tang Benwen, Zhang Dalin, Chen Xiangsheng, and Wang Jinrong, attended the meeting, alongside college deans, secretaries, and heads of relevant administrative departments.
Yang Wei, Secretary of the CPC GZU Committee, emphasized the importance of advancing high-quality employment for graduating students and expanding study abroad opportunities. Yang highlighted the need for strong leadership, effective implementation, and enhanced communication and collaboration. She also called for tailored support for students and urged each college to develop strategies, improve incentives, and mobilize resources for employment and international study initiatives.
President Song Bao’an pointed out that providing continuous employment services and promoting overseas study opportunities are key to the university’s student-centered approach and its "Double First-Class" initiative. He called on all departments to deliver student services with dedication, and tailor solutions based on practical needs. Collaborative planning, innovation, and new strategies were emphasized to address these priorities effectively.
During the meeting, Yu Ying, Director of the Admissions and Employment Office, provided an update on graduate employment. Hong Yun, Director of the Office of International Relations, reported on progress in promoting overseas study. Representatives from relevant colleges also shared experiences and reaffirmed their commitment to these goals.
