GZU Holds Kickoff Meeting for 2024 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week

On July 16, Guizhou University held the kickoff meeting for the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week in the Xianzheng Building conference room. Attendees included GZU President and Academician Song Bao'an, and Chen Wenyi, Director of the Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Organizing Committee. The meeting was chaired by GZU Vice President Zhou Shaoqi.

Chen Wenyi outlined the key points and requirements from the preparatory meeting for the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. He emphasized that hosting the Cooperation Week is crucial for expanding Guizhou’s educational openness and enhancing the quality of higher education. He noted that Guizhou University plays a significant role in the event and must focus on efficient, focused, and high-quality preparations to create a platform that showcases openness and delivers tangible outcomes.

Hong Yun, Director of Office of International Relations, provided an update on the university’s progress in preparing for the Cooperation Week. Representatives from various project teams also shared their updates, and the organizing committee discussed key challenges and next steps.

In his remarks, President Song Bao'an emphasized that the Cooperation Week serves as a critical platform for showcasing Guizhou University's high-quality development. He urged teams to plan carefully, define responsibilities clearly, and ensure the event is meticulously organized. The aim is to maximize the impact of the Cooperation Week, with a focus on professionalism, brand building, and internationalization, while maintaining high standards throughout.

It was announced that during the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, Guizhou University will host, co-host, or support 18 projects, including 14 during the opening period and 4 throughout the year.
