On July 6, a joint field trial and evaluation was held in Huishui County, central Guizhou, for two key national R&D projects: "Eco-Friendly Fungicides and Antiviral Agents" and "New Green Herbicides." Attendees of the event included GZU President Song Bao'an, several professors, and experts from the Guizhou Plant Protection Station, who assessed the trials’ outcomes.
The trials demonstrated successful control of pest, disease, and weed throughout the rice-growing season, earning high praise from the experts.
Following the field evaluation, a review meeting was held, where researchers from the Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences and GZU presented promising results from trials of the plant-protection chemicals targeting rice leafrollers and citrus canker, as well as those in integrated pest management. The panel recommended speeding up the registration of the final products made of these chemicals and expanding multi-site trials to promote their use.
Besides the trials in Huishui, new agrochemicals jointly developed by GZU and Qingdao KingAgroot were also tested in Luodian and Rongjiang counties for citrus canker control. In 2024, the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center organized field trials in Guizhou to test these products for rice pest control. The Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in collaboration with GZU and Guizhou Plant Protection Station, also conducted demonstration trials in Huishui and Rongjiang.
