Management Committee Meeting for the Development Fund and Promotion of the 2024 Overseas Studies Program for the Innovation Elite Class Between GZU and DBN

On June 4th, a management committee meeting was held at the West Campus of Guizhou University (GZU) to discuss the development fund between Da Bei Nong Group (DBN) and GZU. This was followed by a promotion meeting for the 2024 Overseas Studies Program of the University's “Elite Innovation Class”, which is supported by DBN.

During the management committee meeting, the attendees, who included GZU Vice President Zhang Dalin and key personnel from various departments and colleges, were briefed on the recent changes to the management committee for the Development Fund and the related budget for 2024.

Vice President Zhang Dalin emphasized the importance of effective fund management. He stressed the need to plan the budget in advance, respect the donor’s intentions, and align the funds with the University’s “double first-class” projects and high-quality development goals. To this end, he urged the evaluation of project effectiveness to ensure full and efficient utilization of the funds. Zhang also highlighted the importance of focusing on advancing the “Elite Innovation Class” as a flagship talent development program. Regarding fund management, Zhang suggested the importance of communication and asked the departments to adopt efficient management practices under the supervision of the funding commission. He also noted that the in-depth cooperation between GZU and DBN could take various forms and utilize different channels.

Following the management committee meeting, a promotion event for the 2024 Overseas Studies Program of the Elite Innovation Class was held. Participants included key personnel from the Academic Affairs Office, Finance Office, Office of External Cooperation, Office of International Relations, College of Animal Science, College of Computer Science and Technology, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, College of Agriculture, and Research and Development Center for Fine Chemicals. They discussed the plans for the four elite classes to study abroad at the University of Oxford in the UK, Massey University in New Zealand, and Macquarie University in Australia in 2024.
