A meeting on the “Fine Development of Rich Mineral Resources”, a key socio-economic initiative of Guizhou Province, was held at the west campus of Guizhou University on Monday, March 25. Present at the meeting were Chinese Academy of Engineering member and GZU president Song Bao’an and prominent professor of mechanical engineering He Lin. Wang Jinrong, vice president of GZU, chaired the meeting.  

At the meeting, Song Bao’an noted that promoting “Fine Development of Rich Mineral Resources” should be a top priority of Guizhou University. The whole GZU community must work together in publicizing, implementing and evaluating this initiative. He also highlighted the importance of the synergy between key projects, enterprises and research teams to ensure initiatives such as “Fine Development of Rich Mineral Resources” could yield social and economic benefits.

He Lin made a work review at the meeting. Wu Fuzhong, director of GZU’s Institute of Science and Technology presented an overview of the progress of the initiative and representatives of various research institutes also reported on their respective work as part of this initiative.

The heads of 16 administrative and academic divisions of Guizhou University also attended the meeting.
