President Song Bao'an received Mu Xianqing, GZU alumnus and Secretary of CPC Committee of Mashan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, during the latter’s visit to his alma mater on March 23. The two sides also had an extensive discussion on opportunities of cooperation between Guizhou University and Mashan County in areas such as agricultural technologies and rural revitalization.

Song Bao’an informed Mr. Mu of the latest development of Guizhou University. He highlighted the generous support GZU’s alumni have provided to make such development possible. As a token of gratitude to the guest, an exemplary alumnus, the president promised assistance to Mashan County in crop breeding through experts and enterprises in the field, which could boost the growth of new productive forces and the socio-economic development of Mashan.

Mu Xianqing shared with President Song his memorable experiences at the university as well as the socio-economic conditions of Mashan County. He emphasized Mashan’s strengths in location as part of Nanning, capital of Guangxi, and its highly developed transport network. According to Mu, Mashan has set its sights on promoting rural revitalization through the crop seeds industry. He expressed his hope that it could benefit from Guizhou University’s assistance in the form of talent and technology. Guizhou University could use Mashan as a testing ground for its expertise in agricultural technology and work together with his county for rural modernization, he noted.
