To broaden the channels for education support and enhance the effectiveness of educational sponsorship, Guizhou University held the third educational support and sponsorship event which themed“Patriotism, Integrity, Gratitude, and Inspiration” and featured a selection and showcase competitionon October 19th. The event of this year highlighted the topic of “Telling Sponsorship Stories Well, Improving Educational Effectiveness”. Chen Xiangsheng, Vice President of Guizhou University, attended the event and delivered a speech.

Chen, on behalf of Guizhou University, expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Student Financial Aid Management Office and sibling universities for their long-term support. He stated that Guizhou University places great importance on educational support and sponsorship. It endeavors to reinforce students’ beliefs in loving the Party and the country, to foster their sense of honesty and integrity, to cultivate their mindset of gratefulness and to promote their qualities of self-reliance and self-improvement through various means. Each college of Guizhou University carried out related themed activities to improve the achievement of educational support and sponsorship. On the basis of implementing the policy of providing assistance to all who need it and targeted financial support, the university aims to instill the qualities of “patriotism, integrity, gratitude, and inspiration” in economically disadvantaged students to help them grow and develop comprehensively.

Zhao Xianglun, Director of the Student Financial Aid Management Center, stated that the reason for setting “patriotism, integrity, gratitude, and inspiration” as the theme of this event is to assist students in cultivating sound values and good moral qualities. He hoped thatthe annual exhibition would provide each college with an opportunity for exchange and mutual learning and improve their work of financial aid.

In the event, a total of 16 colleges were shortlistedfor the university-level selection and exhibition. After the on-site competition, Yangming College won the first prize.  College of Management and two other colleges won the second prize. College of Philosophy and four other colleges won the third prize, and College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and six other colleges received the organization prize. College of Media and three other colleges won the best theme award.
