On the afternoon of May 26, Vladimir Norov, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), visited Guizhou University. The vice presidents of Guizhou University, Li Junqi and Chen Xiangsheng, met with Vladimir Norov and the delegation in Renwen Hall of the Academy of Chinese Culture. On behalf of the school, Li Junqi first extended a warm welcome to Vladimir Norov and his delegation, and then provided some general information about the university and, more specifically, the trends within the big data industry in recent years. Likewise, Vladimir Norov expressed his gratitude to Guizhou University for the warm reception. After learning about the cooperation between the university and the member states of the organization, he suggested that the two sides should further enhance cooperation in the big data industries found within Guizhou.

Following the meeting, Vladimir Norov and the delegates visited the Academy of Chinese Culture and the State Key Laboratory of Public Big Data, which was jointly built by the  People’s Government of Guizhou and the Ministry of Education. Key leaders joined the visit, including Liu Baochang, deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial Foreign Affairs Office; Chen Xiangsheng, vice president of Guizhou University; and directors from the European and American Divisions of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Office of International Relations, and the Chinese Cultural Academy.

Before his visit to the university, Vladimir and his delegation attended the 2021 China International Big Data Industry Expo during the morning on May 26. They were received by Shen Yiqin, secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress; and by Li Bingjun, deputy secretary of   the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and governor of Guizhou province.
